Enjoy visual communication!
At “Zoo Seminar” (Mizukawa Seminar), the foundation is that each student fully enjoys visual expression. From the perspective of everyday people, we re-examine various forms of information and explore the possibilities of new visual communication that resonates with human sensibilities.
Practically, through hands-on exercises centered around graphic design—and using highly visual media such as illustration, photography, and video—students shape their individual “interests” and “passions” into tangible forms, thereby cultivating their ability to communicate effectively.
ずぅゼミ（水川ゼミナール）では、各自が視覚表現を「存分に楽しむ」事を大前提とし、生活者の視点からあらゆる情報を捉え直し、人々の感性に共鳴する「新しいビジュアルコミュニケーションの可能性」を探求しています。
具体的には、グラフィックデザインを中心に、イラストレーション、写真、映像などの視覚的効果の高い「メディア」を駆使し、各自の「興味」や「拘り」を「カタチ」に落とし込んでいく演習をとおして、「伝える力」を身につけています。
Note: The seminar is officially called the “Mizukawa Seminar,” but since that name is a bit long and cumbersome, we shorten it to “Mizuu-kawa Seminar,” and then further to “Zoo Seminar.” The word “Zoo” also plays on the image of a “zoo,” reflecting our hope that the seminar will be a lively place where a wide variety of “colors” (individuals) can express themselves in their own way, respect one another, inspire each other, and grow together through healthy competition. We hope you’ll continue to support our slightly noisy, but vibrant “Zoo Seminar.”
※「水川（みずかわ）ゼミナール」と呼ぶのが長くて面倒なので「みずぅかわゼミ」→「ずぅゼミ」と略して呼んでいます。この「ずぅ」には「ZOO（動物園）」のイメージも掛けており、多種多様な「色」が、それぞれのペースで「らしく」過ごし、互いを尊重しつつも、刺激し合い、切磋琢磨できる「賑やかな場」であって欲しいと願っています。ちょっと騒がしい「ずぅゼミ」を今後とも宜しくお願い致します。
